Why Weichai oil
Oil from the company that builds the engine
Weichai is China's largest maker of heavy-truck engines. Its engines power trucks, buses, construction machines and generators, including many of the Shacman and Sinotruk trucks on Ethiopian roads. Weichai makes this oil for its own engines.
- Since 1946
Weichai has built engines for 80 years.
- No. 1 in China
for heavy-truck engines, and the leading maker of natural gas truck engines.
- Same group
as Sinotruk and Shacman: Shandong Heavy Industry Group.
Not sure what is in your truck? The engine plate shows the maker and model. Weichai engine models include WP10, WP12 and WP13. Send us a photo of the plate and we will tell you which oil it needs. Send a photo on WhatsApp.

Genuine oil
Fake oil damages trucks and machines
Fake and refilled engine oil is a known problem across East Africa. It looks like the real thing, but it does not protect an engine: it breaks down in the heat, lets metal wear against metal and leaves sludge behind. The result is overheating, worn bearings and, too often, a seized engine.
We have seen it first-hand. Our founders built Garri Logistics, and running trucks there showed them trucks and machines damaged by fake oil. A rebuilt engine costs far more than genuine oil.
